8-1: Today in class we continued our review of material we learned last year.
Notes:
*Remember: In Spanish, every noun has a gender. This means that it is either masculine or feminine. The article for masculine nouns is “el,” while the article for feminine nouns is “la.”
When using adjectives in Spanish, remember to change the adjective’s ending based on the gender of the noun being described.
--Many adjectives end in an “o.” For singular masculine nouns, the adjective ending does not change.
ex: El chico es estudioso.
--However, most of the time for singular feminine nouns the “o” ending will change to an “a.”
ex: La chica es estudiosa.
--Adjectives that end in an “e” do not change with the gender of the noun.
ex: El chico es inteligente y la chica es inteligente.
--Some adjectives end in an “a,” and do not change based on the gender of the noun.
ex: El chico es deportista y la chica es deportista.
