New vocabulary theme: Animals
Grammar lesson: Conjugated verbs. We discussed what infinitive and conjugated verbs look like in English, and that there are a lot more verb conjugations in Spanish than there are in English. We used very basic language and did not go as in depth as we will when they are in Middle School.
EX: Infinitive verb: To have
English present tense conjugations: Have, Has
Spanish present tense conjugations:
Tengo (I have)
Tienes (You have
Tiene (He has, she has)
Tenemos (We have)
Teneis (Y'all have)
Tienen (They have)
Your child should be able to write sentences (with the help of their notebook) like: I have a cat, you have a horse, we have some chickens, he has a dog.....
